Unlike typical AI-powered applications like Hyperwrite AI, it removes the NSFW filter, allowing users to explore the sexting experience. The developer is committed to unfiltered, unrestricted, and uncensored chatting. When mature themes are allowed in the conversations, users have the freedom to customize their experience and delve into more creative or personal chats.

The tool is powered by Chronos-Hermes13b and Pygmalion7b, a modern text generation base for NSFW and SFW content. SpicyChat AI Review: Is It A Good AI Chatting Tool?

User-Friendliness

One of the competitive edges of SpicyChat AI is its free service for basic functions. All you need to do is log in to the tool, sign up for an account, and navigate the user-friendly inference. That said, an API key is not required to install like other models, so I found the on-site experience quite simple and straightforward.

On the downside, the platform limits the number of online users to maintain consistent quality. During peak hours, with up to 2,000 to 3,000 visitors in the queue, I had to wait 30-45 minutes to get involved with my favorite character. But other than that, the wait time is usually from 6 to 10 minutes, and you know it’s ready when the system announces: Chat is Available.

Of course, the developer offers a solution to avoid this frustrating scenario. For a minimum of $5 per month, users can obtain priority tickets and bypass the long wait times.

AI Roles

SpicyChat provides more than 138,000 characters to cater to different amusement needs. I find it easy to come up with my favorite roles as the platform categorizes all resources into 80+ categories, from common ones to more tailored characters. The most visited sections are female, male, English, and dominant. But recently, I’ve noticed an increase in the number of visitors to the LGBTQ+ category, so you can give it a shot.

Character Creation

If the diverse collection of AI characters is not enough to satisfy you, take your in-app experience up a notch with the Creation mode. This function enables you to customize all personal attributes of the AI character to your heart’s content. In particular, you can decide the role model’s avatar, name, greeting, title, and personality.

Additionally, there are other major settings, including Example Dialogues and Scenarios. Both options allow you to set the behavior and communication style according to your expectations. It is truly a step up from other chat boxes to enhance entertainment. However, it still has room for improvement. I had to test and adjust the settings many times before I could come up with my dream character.

Luckily, after many trials and errors, I’ve come to learn that I could import existing models from Character AI to save time when setting up my character. Of course, you can continue with personalization options to perfect them. 

Chat Experience

Even when you chat with a pre-set character, the tool never fails to bring you joy and contentment. Your conversation evolves consistently as the AI roles maintain their attributes throughout the process. The longer you engage, the more you become immersed in the scene.

One of my favorite things about the content is that it develops as if I were diving into a captivating novel. Descriptive responses from the characters gave me a glimpse into their inner thoughts as the narrative went on.

The best part is that you are empowered to drive the conversation the way you like. Developers set up responses based on your specific keywords or signals, so it’s advisable to communicate your preferences clearly from the beginning for a seamless experience.

Advanced Interaction

SpicyChat offered some cool text interaction features that I found after playing around for a bit. First, the platform does not limit the number of characters per input. In other words, you can provide lengthy messages that shape the story. Unfortunately, the limited tokens of a free account might restrict the full use of this feature.

You can also have a say in story plots. Try adding the symbol * before and after phrases you want to emphasize in the generated text. This setting changes the scene and the character’s state, reshaping the context.

Suppose my input is: I trust you. *I unlocked the chain from her.*

The context changes as follows: Ami’s eyes broadened in surprise as the chain around her waist fell to the ground …

If you are not satisfied with the feedback received, rate it and then edit at will. At SpicyChat, you are on the driving wheel, so keep guiding the conversation until the storyline is on the right track.

Context Quality

As mentioned above, the Pygmalion 7b is the backbone of SpicyChat. It consists of the language model LLaMA-7B and data subset Pygmalion-6B-v8-pt. This exceptional setting contributes to good responses that are both semantic and contextual. 

However, it is not the best one on the market today. In some conversations, I found the messages somewhat boring and sometimes repetitive even after my fine-tuning efforts.

Memory

SpicyChat works on “Semantic Memory,” a double-edged sword regarding user experience. The significant drawback of this mechanism is limited memory based on tokens. 

You can only use a maximum of 2048 tokens for the free package. In comparison with other AI apps, SpicyChat’s memory is considered low. Even if you upgrade to higher tiers, the limit only reaches 4000 tokens. In other words, only a small portion of your conversation is saved as a basis for what happens next.

On the bright side, the system remembers key information even if you move on to another topic in the same conversation. This ensures coherence và relevance throughout the experience instead of prioritizing recentness.

API Integration

Thanks to OpenAI API key compatibility, you can expect seamless responses. The most powerful LLM boosts operation speed even though I was completely satisfied with its performance in basic mode. It also commits to better comprehension and language creativity.

However, this advantage only applies to SFW content. To access NSFW, you should install Hybrid mode and pay an additional $5 per 1,000 messages to enjoy a rocket response rate.

Image & Voice

In addition to the main elements, SpicyChat incorporates the DreamShaper-8 function, which converts text to images. This function generates high-quality pictures inspired by anime that are similar to Soulgen AI.

However, there is still room for improvement to provide the best output. Most of the inputs in my bots do not live up to my expectations, and the images do not match the selected character or the ongoing context.

The platform also provides audio chat that allows you to transmit voice to text via the microphone, but I found it a hit-or-miss.
